Definitions and Interpretations in these Conditions
StudyGlobal
organizes and acts as agent for overseas bodies which
offer and supply clients (students) with tuition and accommodation
for in-country language courses. StudyGlobal
as agent effects all bookings and reservations for students
and it may, at its discretion, intercede without charge
on behalf of students who become in dispute with any persons
or bodies in connection with any matters arising, provided,
however, that StudyGlobal
shall not thereby be liable or become liable in any way
in connection with any such matter.
Accommodation
Accommodation is usually
allocated from the Sunday before a course starts until the
Saturday after it finishes, unless otherwise
indicated. However, if you spend less than 6 nights in
your accommodation in any particular week, you will not
receive any discount. Extra
nights can be arranged according to availability and for
an additional fee. There is normally a limit of 3 extra
nights, after which an extra week price will be charged.
Shared apartments provide basic self-catering
accommodation for students at the language school.
Sometimes students will have the option of sharing with
local people (this will be stated when applicable).
Studio Apartments are private, self-contained,
fully-furnished apartments for one or two people.
Host Families are carefully chosen by our partners and can
be a married couple or single person, with or without
children. Other students can be accommodated in the same
family. Families often offer the option breakfast only,
half board (breakfast and dinner included) or full board
(breakfast, lunch and dinner included).
School Residences can be big houses accommodating around
10-15 students or larger buildings housing hundreds of
students. Residences often have a reception service and
many offer accommodation on a bed and breakfast, half
board and full board basis. They often also have catering
facilities and other amenities, such as television rooms
or internet cafes.
Twin or double rooms normally imply two students sharing a
room, with two separate beds.
Please
note that seasonal surcharges may apply to certain types
of accommodation.
-
Airport Transfers
-
Airport Transfers need to be specially requested. They
can only be arranged at least 2 weeks before departure
with all information necessary (flight number, airline,
date and time of arrival) communicated to StudyGlobal in
written (email, fax or letter).
StudyGlobal does not accept any liability for missed
flight or wrong flight information and no refunds will be given
in the case that flights are delayed, cancelled or
changed. Flight information that is incomplete or
given on the phone is not acceptable.
Courses
Where the number of course lessons is shown, this
corresponds to the particular school's practice and one
lesson may last from 45-60 minutes - the number of minutes
per lesson is usually shown in the brochure or on the
website. The exact number of hours shown in the brochure
may be somewhat reduced due to the initial level test
which usually takes place on the first Monday of the
course (sometimes no classes are missed, often the first 2
lessons are missed, and occasionally the whole of the
first Monday is missed). There may also be some missed
hours due to evaluation testing during the course (often
on Fridays every 2 or 4 weeks). Hours can also be reduced
due to national or regional holidays which vary depending
on the destination where the course takes place.
Students are responsible of meeting the level requirements,
if any, that are indicated in the course description
(catalogue or internet) or confirmation (written or
electronically). If the student does not have the suitable
level, StudyGlobal reserves the right to change the course
type accordingly.
StudyGlobal does not accept any liability for lessons
missed due to these reasons and no refunds will be given
where lessons are missed due to testing or
national/regional holidays.
In consideration of the price agreed for the course and
accommodation the following terms and conditions shall
