STUDY ENGLISH IN ENGLAND - LANGUAGE SCHOOL PORTSMOUTH
|
Portsmouth, England, UK
Minimum Age: 18
years Average Age: 22 –
31 years |
|
|
|
Location |
 |
| Portsmouth, famous
for its 800 years maritime history and birthplace of Charles
Dickens, is one of the most interesting cities on England's
beautiful south-coast. Portsmouth's historic Naval Dockyard is
one of Britain's leading tourist attractions welcoming over one
million visitors a year and includes Nelson's flagship, HMS
Victory, the world's first iron warship, HMS Warrior, King Henry VIII's Mary Rose and the Royal Naval Museum. In the summer many
people come from all over the world to visit the ships and the
surrounding area. The city has many attractions including the
government center and the cathedral. Portsmouth is also a
thriving seaside holiday resort with a fantastic range of
entertainment, cultural and sporting facilities. To study
English in Portsmouth is recommended for students that are
very serious about their language studies and prefer a more
intimate setting and environment. Portsmouth is not only famed for its naval heritage and
harbour. Explore the museums to find out about the events and
people that have shaped the city across the centuries. Make the
most of the parks and seafront when the weather is good, or join
in one of the many special events that take place here
throughout the year. From Portsmouth you can take the ferry to the Isle of Wight, Bilbao (E), Le Havre and Cherbourg (F).
|
 |
 |
The language school is located in the
heart of Portsmouth and in the very best area of the city; next
to the main shopping centre, library and railway station,
theatre and restaurants, and yet is still within walking
distance of the beach and sea-front. You can reach your host
family and most of the city's attractions in less than 30
minutes walking.
London can be reached in less than 2 hours by car or public
transportation (approximately 75 minutes from Heathrow Airport
and Gatwick Airport and only 20 minutes from Southampton
Eastleigh Airport.), and by sea to mainland Europe. Portsmouth itself offers great savings in quality
English language programs compared to London and is a great
alternative for those who prefer to be closer to the sea.

laboratory and library, multimedia CD ROM computers and color

there is a small weekly fee of £5). The school has also
developed an excellent package of Self-Access Study modules
which can include Listening Skills, Pronunciation Development,
Business English Skills, and British History & Culture.

 |
 |
Class Size / Average Age:
The classes are
relatively small; normally between 6 and a maximum of 12 students
with an average age of between 18 and 30 (the minimum age is
17). We try to keep our examination classes as small as possible
(the maximum is 10 students per class) ; this allows the teacher
to give the students the necessary high level of individual
attention.
