Location
MALTA offers a safe, friendly environment where all visitors are welcome. With a rich history, an ideal climate for beach-lovers and a hot nightlife, Mediterranean Malta as a destination is hard to beat! In just 48 hours and a kilometer or two, you can try a new sport, laze on an island cruise and tour the most important historic sites.

Bilingual in Maltese and English, with strong historic and cultural links to Britain, Malta is an enjoyable place to learn or practise English. There are courses for everyone from youngsters to professionals.

Courses are held in Sliema and the school is located less than a 300 meters from Sliema's coastline where you can stroll along the sea promenade.

Séjour Linguistique Malte

Malta is just a few hours’ flying time from most mainland European cities and has excellent intercontinental connections. Choose from scheduled services or charter flights, many of which offer a convenient departure point from European regional cities. Malta has excellent connections to many countries and there are regular non-stop flights by Air Malta and other airlines to London, Paris, Geneva, Amsterdam, Rome, Munich, Frankfurt, Tunis, Cairo, Vienna, Zurich, Moscow and Barcelona. There are also regular ferry services from Pozzallo and Catania. In view of the busy tourist season, it is advisable to book early.

The Islands are included in several cruise itineraries and provide an excellent base or stop-over for sailing. We provide details on marinas and anchorages and info on the procedures if you arrive under sail. You can also get here on a scheduled ferry direct from several Mediterranean ports. Visit during special times like summer festa season, Easter and carnival and you’ll never be stuck for what to do – simply join the crowd for some fun.

A Diver’s Paradise.

The Islands offer excellent sport for both beginners and experienced open water and cave divers.  With their natural harbors, bays, sheltered creeks, cliffs, reefs and wrecks, the Islands invite you to explore. The possibilities are endless.  With dive sites just a stone’s throw away from each other, you will be able to explore a variety of underwater worlds. Sea temperatures average 23ºC in summer and drop to 13ºC to 15ºC in December to March. We offer a special Diving + English Package.

The Maltese archipelago consists of three main islands: Malta, Gozo and Comino with a total surface area of 316km2. Malta was exposed to a diversity of cultures, enhancing its rich archaeological, historical and cultural heritage. The relaxed and inexpensive lifestyle of Malta, its incredible climate and beautiful sea, make it an ideal destination for language learning. The local people speak Maltese. However, most are also fluent in English, a legacy of British rule which lasted 160 years. Malta obtained its independence from Britain in 1964 and became a Republic in 1974. The Constitution of Malta guarantees freedom of worship and association.

The school is situated in SLIEMA, a popular centre for shopping, restaurants and various amenities, less than 300m away from the sea.

Sliema, meaning 'peace' was once a quiet fishing village across Valletta's Grand Harbour. Today you will find several of Malta's most recently built hotels there. Sliema offers dazzling views of Valletta during the day, as well as in the evening. The vast promenade along the coast is popular among locals for social gatherings and evening strolls.

Neighbouring Sliema are St. Julian's and Paceville, which form Malta's main tourist centre. The scenic Spinola Bay in St. Julian's houses traditional fishing boats and is surrounded by restaurants which are popular for open air dining by the sea. Paceville, an extension of St. Julian's, is Malta's main nightlife centre where there are clubs, bars, casinos, restaurants and café's.

The elegant strand promenade bordering the Creek is popular with Sunday strollers, who like to observe other people, and be observed, in turn as they pass by. Sliema is one of the major shopping areas in Malta. You will find many major shops, restaurants and bars.

Tower Road and its neighbouring streets make up the fashionable district, with numerous shops, boutiques, banks and small restaurants. Ghar-id-Dud is the haunt of families with children and people from all walks of life. From here another seaside promenade follows the shoreline up to St. Julian's Bay.

ST. JULIANS is an extension of Sliema. It started as a small fishing port around the two bays of Spinola and Balluta: but like Sliema it is now a major residential town and tourist centre. Hotels of all categories abound, particularly at Paceville, where a high-class Casino, amusement halls, discotheques and night-spots provide entertainment for the thousands of youths and foreign visitors who frequent the locality.

The school has been operating in Malta since 1980 and the staff is proud to belong to one of Malta's first ever schools for English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Our name stands for competence, quality, and decades of experience in language instruction.

The school aims to offer a truly international environment as it welcomes students from all over the globe.

Our committed team of staff and teachers aim to provide a supportive and helpful environment to make it possible for you to benefit academically and socially during your stay. All teachers are trained to teach English as a Foreign Language using theories and teaching methodologies developed by inlingua International which emphasises the importance of learning English through English, encouraging students to communicate in English from Day One of their course.

The school consists of 45 fully air conditioned classrooms. Classrooms are of different sizes to accommodate larger classes of 10 students as well as smaller classes of up to 6 students.

Due to the high number of students, extra buildings will be used during the summer period. Some of them might have air conditioning or not. Course building depends on the English level of the student and will be confirmed upon arrival.

There are 7 floors in the school and lifts are situated on the ground floor and the 2nd floor.

Teaching staff

The academic and administrative teams plan and structure your attendance ensuring that you make the most of your course and stay in Malta. Our teachers aim to help you reach your academic goals through your lessons. The office is open 6 days a week offering an easy and efficient enquiry service. All teachers are trained and qualified as EFL practitioners and the school maintains a balance of native and non-native teachers (Maltese teachers) on its staff. Actually we can respect your special wish for native British teachers for one-to-one lessons. In addition to the basic EFL training, some teachers have chosen to specialise in teaching English for Specific Purposes, and other teachers offer their expertise and knowledge of specialist subjects to cater for the growing demands of the EFL student.

A variety of teaching methods are used at the school, but the prime concern of the school is to create an environment conducive to a communicative and practical approach to language learning. Students are encouraged to develop their language skills through a balance of different activities such as chairing/participating in discussions, roleplays, extracting information from listening/reading tasks, writing reports and pair/group work as well as practising new structures of English through controlled and free practice.

Administrative staff

The Administrative staff services all aspects of the school. Some of the people you may meet while you stay with us work in Reception, Accounts, Leisure, Reservations and Housekeeping.

All members of staff are experienced in working with clients from all over the world and they also receive regular training in customer care.
