Spanish Courses
|
|
|
Every Saturday from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm an orientation course is given to all new students who will begin their classes on the following Monday. Students will take a written and oral exam, tour the school, attend an informational session about our programs and receive tips for deriving maximum utility from their experience with the Mexican families that they will stay with while studying in Cuernavaca. Students who cannot attend on Saturday morning, may take the exams and orientation on Monday morning from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and start with their regular classes until 2:00 pm afterwards.
| | | Because of the differences in age, backgrounds and Spanish-speaking levels, all students are given an oral and written assessment of their Spanish language skills. The assessment is to insure that students are assigned to a class that's appropriate to their level of Spanish. Furthermore, teachers periodically evaluate their students in order to insure that students' placements remain appropriate to their level. Learning Materials: Books are not included in the price for general Spanish courses and must be purchased upon arrival at the school at a price of about USD 20.00-40.00 depending on your level. They are included for all Executive Programs. | | |
More info on courses (please click here)
More than twenty years ago the school developed the concept of intensive, small group learning for Spanish language instruction. No more than five students are assigned to a professor, who works personally with each student. Within the insitute, it is of utmost importance to group students according to their ability, in order to facilitate their understanding and acquisition of the language. In order to achieve this crucial objective, professors take into account all of the characteristics, expectations, and needs of each student and/or group. Other relevant considerations include: - Level (measured through a written exam and an oral interview)
- Length of stay at the school (number of weeks/semesters)
- Age
- Type of Program (Intensive, Semester or Executive)
The credits earned are transferable to institutions abroad. Students whose home university has no agreement with our partner school must verify that the credits will be accepted by their school. Credits are granted for all levels of Spanish language courses. The same is true for credits received from other courses offered at the school and/or accredited US universities that are affiliated with an Intensive Spanish Language Program. |

The purpose of this class is to put into practice your acquired knowledge both in and out of the classroom in a daily context such as in the home, school and social settings, while becoming acquainted with Mexican culture and every day life.
