English Courses
The classes are small (maximum 15 students), giving you plenty of opportunity to interact with other students. So that you get the most out of your English learning experience, the teachers encourage you to participate in class, give you homework and give you individual assistance when you need it. We incorporate a variety of modern learning methods into our English courses, and make full use of the multi-media centres. Class times and courses are assigned after the placement test on your first day of school, and are based on your level of English, the availability of classes and the date of registration. You may be assigned morning or afternoon classes depending on your level and choice of classes. We cannot guarantee any specific time or combination of courses in advance. | | Each lesson is 45 minutes long. All courses are divided into Core Skills classes and Specific Skills options. Students also have Task Team Time during which they work in groups on projects related to their classes. Every 4 weeks, each group of students makes a presentation to the class on their project. Task Team Time is a great opportunity to improve Communication in English and work in a team.
The core of programs is the English Core Skills class, which is offered at 7 levels (from beginner to advanced). These levels correspond to the levels A0 to C2 of the Common European Framework. The Core Skills program is externally referenced to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and The Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) Can-do statements. By following your study path you will work on the four skills of reading, writing, listening, speaking and on grammar - while all the time being assessed against international standards. The unique modular approach means your path can be adjusted to match your strengths.
The Specific Skills classes are a special feature of English courses. These classes focus on a specific area such as Listening and Vocabulary, Grammar and Writing, or Conversation and Pronunciation. You will take the classes which are most appropriate to your particular language learning needs. |
