Australia is the sixth largest country in the world. It's about the same size as the 48 mainland states of the USA and 50 per cent larger than Europe, but has the lowest population density in the world - only two people per square kilometer.

Students have one-on-one tutorials with their teacher and they discuss the student’s progress. Senior Teachers are available to give advice on specific academic needs should the teacher or student require extra assistance.

For any accommodation and homestay questions an accommodation manager is available to help the student.

Classes at Elementary and Pre-Intermediate levels focus on Speaking, Listening and Pronunciation in the afternoon. Students at these levels are given extra help to improve their spoken English and comprehension quickly and effectively.

Most courses now include an integrated e-learning package where students will be able to log in to the system from anywhere at any time to really maximize their learning experience. Students will be able to complete online exercises, view a record of their progress online, download web quests and other activities set by their teacher, message their classmates.

You can choose a course from 2 to 52 weeks. We offer 6 levels of General English from Elementary to Advanced. 20 hours face to face tuition per week in addition to 5 hours programmed self access.

Lessons division: Monday-Thursday general english Students work with their teacher on building communication confidence. Each student receives their own published General English course book. All Power English students currently study from 08:30-14:30 (incl. 1 hour break and 1 hour supervised self-access)..

On Friday Students focus on Power Skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking), and on everyday subjects such as Social English and Travel English. Students also get the chance to study the hugely popular ‘Power Tech’ subjects such as building a www.myspace.com or www.youtube.com community, and ways of using their English in podcasts and web communities.

As part of the Power Skills, students choose 2 skills that they would like to concentrate on for a month, one will be 2 hours in the morning and the other 2 hours in the afternoon. Electives offered can include the following: Media, Web 2.0, Travel Australia, Drama, Music.

The Evening Intensive English Language Course has been designed for students who are occupied during the day by work or other activities but still want to follow an Intensive English language course.

The course follows the same pattern as the General Intensive English Language course to maximize your language learning: speaking, listening, writing, reading, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation as well as specifically designed elective components for “real life situations” (e.g. Media, Web 2.0, Travel Australia, Drama, Music). However, there is no supervised self-access study included.

Cambridge Examination Certificates are internationally recognised English Language qualifications. They are highly valued by employers in many countries. Cambridge Exams are aligned the Common European Framework of Reference, the benchmark of language proficiency.

The school has been offering a full range of highly intensive and motivating examination preparation programs for many years. Students who follow the Cambridge Preparation programs are students who wish to gain one of the world's most widely recognised English Language qualifications with Australia's best-known provider.

Cambridge exam classes are highly-focused and challenging programs. The students follow a course book which provides comprehensive study of al the skills required to pass the examinations. During the course, students will improve their speaking and listening, grammar, vocabulary and writing. Examination practice is an integral part of the program, and helps students gain excellent results in the final exams. Extensive self-access materials are also available for each examination, and teachers advise students individually on their personalized self-access program.

Among the specialist teaching staff are a number of Cambridge examiners, who teach on the programs and give individual feedback and advice to students throughout their program. Our aim is to help each student make maximum progress.

Cambridge ESOL exams can now be taken as Computer-Based tests – together with the Standard face-to-face speaking exam. Combined with shorter exam preparation courses FCE and CAE are offered as a new Digital range of courses at the Sydney City (PET) and Sydney Bondi (FCE, CAE) campuses. During the exam you will select options and enter them on the screen and your results will be available online just three weeks after the course.

The exam preparation course itself follows the same structure as the paper-based course where students work with a course book which provides comprehensive study of all the skills required to pass the examinations. Examination practice lessons are done on the computer as an integral part of the program and help students gain excellent results in the final exams.

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) assesses the level of English of non-native speakers who need to use English in an Academic or Professional context, or who need English for a visa application through Australian Immigration.

IELTS is not a pass/fail exam. Each module of the test is graded separately as a 'Band Score'. The module scores are then added together to provide an overall Band Score. Band scores range from 1 (=non user) to 9 (=expert user). Most universities and institutions of Higher Education will ask for an overall Band score (generally between 6 - 7.5).

The IELTS English language course is an intensive 8-week preparation course for students who need a quick and effective solution to maximize their IELTS score. And for students who want a focussed exam preparation course which will also improve their SPEAKING, LISTENING, READING & WRITING skills. The course consists of 20 group lessons taught by experienced IELTS teachers as well as 5 lessons of exam practice sessions.

The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is a hugely popular English test – particularly in Asia and parts of Europe. Our specialist TOEIC teachers will train you in the techniques needed to increase your TOEIC score to the highest level. The 4-week program consists of 20 group lessons and 5 lessons exam practice.

The 8 week full time Business English program (25 lessons per week) provide English skills necessary for everyday communication in a work context - from making presentations to handling meetings and negotiations. Every business English course now includes exam preparation for the BEC Vantage exam and the option to take the BEC Digital exam at the end of the course at the school. Students take 20 lessons of Business English in a group + 5 lessons of exam practice or assignments for those students who are not interested in taking the BEC Vantage exam.

BEC Digital is the new Computer-Based BEC Vantage exam which provides you with a Business English Certificate at the same level as FCE. It is recognized by more than a 1000 educational institutions and global corporations.
