Learn English in our partner school in Portsmouth, England, UK - Improve your English with a language course in Portsmouth, Britain - English language school in Portsmouth | Portsmouth , famous for its 800 years maritime history and birthplace of Charles Dickens , is one of the most interesting cities on England's beautiful south-coast. Portsmouth's historic Naval Dockyard is one of Britain's leading tourist attractions welcoming over one million visitors a year and includes Nelson's flagship, HMS Victory, the world's first iron warship, HMS Warrior, King Henry VIII's Mary Rose and the Royal Naval Museum. In the summer many people come from all over the world to visit the ships and the surrounding area. The city has many attractions including the government center and the cathedral. Portsmouth is also a thriving seaside holiday resort with a fantastic range of entertainment, cultural and sporting facilities. | | To study English in Portsmouth is recommended for students that are very serious about their language studies and prefer a more intimate setting and environment. Portsmouth is not only famed for its naval heritage and harbour. Explore the museums to find out about the events and people that have shaped the city across the centuries. Make the most of the parks and seafront when the weather is good, or join in one of the many special events that take place here throughout the year. From Portsmouth you can take the ferry to the Isle of Wight, Bilbao (E), Le Havre and Cherbourg (F). | | The language school is located in the heart of Portsmouth and in the very best area of the city; next to the main shopping centre, library and railway station, theatre and restaurants, and yet is still within walking distance of the 10 km of beaches and sea-front. You can reach most of the city's attractions in less than 30 minutes walking. As a University City and a resort town, it also boasts a lively night-life, a buzzing music scene, a choice of theatres and multi-screen cinemas and a range of restaurants, pubs and clubs to suit every taste and pocket. The city also has excellent sporting facilities with swimming, tennis, golf, water sports, track and field facilities and of course is one of the world capitals of sailing. | | | London can be reached in less than 2 hours by car or public transportation (approximately 75 minutes from Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport and only 20 minutes from Southampton Eastleigh Airport), and by sea to mainland Europe. Portsmouth itself offers great savings in quality English language programs compared to London and is a great alternative for those who prefer to be closer to the sea. | | |

General English Students
| The programme generally includes three weekday evening activities plus at least one trip and/or activity over the weekend; the exact final programme naturally depends on many factors (particularly our British weather!). Executive Students
| The programme generally includes three weekday evening activities plus at least one trip and/or activity over the weekend. The exact final programme naturally depends on many factors (including the weather) but two factors are particularly important: - The social programme is as ‘tailor-made’ as possible; we often discover in the initial Monday morning needs analysis interview that the student is particularly interested in a certain activity and, if so, we try to build it into the programme for that week.
- Many of our executive students quickly develop an excellent relationship with their English host family and so tend to do a lot of their socialising together with the family which is, of course, very positive for their language progress.
