On arrival at the school your level will be tested, and the results of this test will determine which class you will study in. Your progress will also be tested weekly to ensure that your level is improving and that your ability is challenged.

Our English language school partner in Manchester also offers private lessons (1 student per teacher) which you can combine with another group course or do on an independent basis. During the private lessons you can choose the topics and focus on General English, Business English or special topics. Please note that special fees apply for private tuition focusing on special topics.

Cambridge ESOL examinations are recognised by a large numbers of universities, colleges, employers, professional bodies and government organisations throughout the world. International students take Cambridge exams in order to improve their job prospects or increase their application success in higher education. Cambridge exams' worldwide recognition also allows students to travel and live abroad easily.

Our English language school partner offers the possibility to prepare for any of the following globally recognised exams: IELTS, TOEFL & TOEIC. The programme combines the Standard English Language Course (15 group lessons per week) with 5 lessons of exam preparation per week.

The IELTS exam is a globally recognised qualification that grades students from Intermediate to Advanced levels. It measures your ability to communicate in English across all four language skills - listening, reading, writing and speaking - and is recognised by universities and colleges, employers, immigration authorities and professional bodies.

The TOEFL test is a North American based English test which is used by many universities to determine the language capability of foreigners willing to study at their facilities. Depending on the score it certifies an advanced language capability.

The TOEIC exam is a multiple choice test which evaluates your English capabilities in a professional and international exchange context if you are not a native English speaker.

Our English language school partner in Manchester offers tailor-made Business English language courses designed to work on the unique needs of each individual. Each Business English student will complete an in-depth needs analysis questionnaire to establish their exact requirements, and their course is tailor-made to suit them.

Students can choose from the following options which method is more suitable for them:

Students can do the following combinations:

• 15 General English group lessons + 1 to 10 one-to-one Business English lessons per week
  or
• 20 General English group lessons + 1 to 06 one-to-one Business English lessons per week

The One-to-One Business English language course of our English language school partner specifically focuses on communication or written work. The course includes giving presentations, participating in meetings, telephoning, negotiating and socialising. Courses can be anything from 1 to 30 lessons per week. Closed groups can also be arranged upon request.

Our English language school partner offers an English language course combined with FA qualified football coaching in partnership with Manchester City Football Club, one of the UK's most successful premiership teams. The course is available year round to students from all nationalities from 16 years of age and both, male and female football fans. 

Accommodation

• Students can stay in a single room in one of our carefully selected host families. Host will provide you with breakfast and evening meal.
• Students of 18 years old and over can choose to stay in the school's self catering student house, single and twin rooms available.

Summer International English language courses are ideal for students aged 16 +. Our English language school partner offers different summer courses which combine English language lessons with activities and weekend excursions or FA qualified football coaching in partnership with Manchester City Football Club!

Each Summer English language course combines English language lessons with activities and excursions.

• the Summer Standard Course (15 group lessons per week + activities/excursions) or
• the Summer Intensive Course (20 group lessons per week + activities/excursions)

Our English language school partner offers an English language course combined with FA qualified football coaching in partnership with Manchester City Football Club, one of the UK’s most successful premiership teams. The course takes place every summer and is open to students from all nationalities from 15 years of age and both, male and female football fans. 

Accommodation
Students of 15 years old and over stay at Manchester University’s Halls of residence on a full board basis (hot lunches only from Monday – Friday). Standard bedrooms have a sink in the room and have shared bathroom facilities.

Students of 18 years old and over can choose to stay in a self-catering university student flat of 4 bedrooms. Bedrooms are single with en-suite shower rooms and there is shared use of the student flat’s lounge and kitchen. A bedding pack (duvet cover; sheet; pillow case; towel) is included in the price. Kitchen and cooking utensils are not provided. Lunches provided Monday to Friday as part of the course, self-catering at weekends. Both accommodation types are situated on the main bus route into the city centre.

Students can also stay in a host family in a single room on full board basis. Lunch will be at the residence from Monday to Friday together with the other football students and at the family's place on the weekends.

Important Note: Students that don't stay in the University residence may be missing out certain (evening) activities which take place at the residence where most of the students stay. We will also have 2 members of our staff at the residence at all times.
