Established in 1999, our partner English language school is housed in a beautiful grade II Georgian listed building which has retained many of its original features. The school is located in the centre of the city of Liverpool in the University district, less than 5 minutes’ walk to all train and bus stations surrounded by cheap, student friendly cafes, restaurants and bars. In summer the school uses an additional 20 classrooms in another building that forms part of Liverpool John Moores University for the junior summer programmes.The building is less than 2 minutes walk from the main school. |  | | Another floor of the university building is also used for general English classes during busy summer periods. Students still use the main school common room, study centre and garden. | All teachers are qualified, skilled and responsible individuals who all have degrees or further specialist qualifications in English language teaching. Our English language school partner in Liverpool offers top quality English language training in the UK. The school offers a wide range of English language courses for students of all ability levels, at any time of the year. The school is proud of its flexible approach in meeting the student’s needs. There is a wide choice of specialist courses including General English, IELTS and Cambridge Exam Preparation courses.
On arrival students are given a placement test which includes grammatical and written sections. They are then placed in a class appropriate to their ability and needs. Progress tests are taken in class on a regular basis every four weeks, and students can progress at any time to their next level of English. Courses follow the levels of the Common European Framework. | Details for all courses: - 1 lesson = 60 minutes. Each 3 hour block includes a 15 min. break.

In Liverpool students have the chance to participate in an exam preparation course for the English language . The language course will prepare you for the Cambridge and IELTS exams.
| Standard + Cambridge Exam Preparation English Language Course (15 general + 6 exam preparation lessons per week)
| Our English partner school provides preparation for the two most popular Cambridge exams, the FCE and CAE exams. You will study techniques for tackling each exam task effectively. There are periodic tests, review sessions and practice exams prior to the actual Cambridge exam. Independent study is vital for all students wishing to pass exams, and a programme of self study and homework is provided to complement classwork. The school has a quiet study area for you to study and a range of self study materials for General English and for Exam preparation.
All tutors teaching Cambridge exams are experienced and trained in the Cambridge syllabus. Teachers have previously taught in many countries around the world. | | The Cambridge Exam Preparation course at our partner school consists of 21 group lessons (15 General English + 6 Exam Preparation lessons per week). By combining general English study with exam specific classes, students can broaden their English knowledge and study at a level suited to them, either at Intermediate (studying for FCE), Upper-Intermediate (FCE or CAE) or Advanced (CAE).

| Individual tuition is available to supplement the General English language courses or can also be booked independently. The syllabus is set by the student, in negotiation with the teacher, who will design a course to match the particular needs of each individual student. The focus is on communicative ability in the student’s area of work or study, for example, banking and finance, education and examination requirements, etc. The amount of individual hours in addition to the General English course depends on individual student needs.

| Our English Language school partner offers the following courses for groups only of 8 - 10 people only. English and The Beatles Experience Course This unique course is offered to groups of minimum 10 people and it’s designed to enable students to combine studying English with experiencing the sights and sounds that inspired Lennon and McCartney. The programme combines 15 lessons of General English which focus on the Beatles and their music with afternoon activities and a full day excursion to London including a guided tour of the Beatle’s London. | | English through Art and Culture This unique course is designed to develop your English language skills by introducing you to the art and culture of Liverpool. This historically famous city has always been alive with art and culture and has produced some of the most famous artists, musicians, writers and sportsmen and women in the world. Junior Summer Courses Students from 14-17 years of age can study English on our Junior programmes in Liverpool. The school can provide a two, three or four week course. Classes are held for 15 lessons per week, with a maximum of 15 students in each class. Students can either stay in a residential accommodation in university campuses or with a host family. The school also offers a special low season programme for school groups. This is a short programme where students study for one or two weeks in Liverpool. English + Internship The school currently only offers English and unpaid work experience for groups of over 10 students so that the programme is organised according to the group’s needs. Activities / Excursions

The social programme is arranged at regular intervals at an additional cost and is subject to demand. This is an optional programme and is not included in the course price. Students can pay individually for these organized activities in our school, or they can speak to the the full time Student Welfare Officer who will help them in organising alternative activities or tours. During the summer the school usually runs 3 or 4 activities per week.
Our English language school partner believes that the friends that students make during their stay in Liverpool are as important as the lessons they learn. Social events allow all students to practice their English in a natural environment both with other students and with native speakers. |  | | The school also organises full day weekend excursions by private bus to a wide variety of destinations. Trips are subject to demand, and usually held during the summer season. The school can also arrange short breaks, car hire and accommodation throughout the country on request. The most popular full day excursion destinations are Chester, the Lake District, York, Wales, Edinburgh and London. |

| Transfers | An airport transfer can be arranged only when flight information is received in writing at least 2 weeks before the start of the course. The transfer can be organised from / to the following airports at the following cost:
Travelling to / from Liverpool: There are direct flights to Liverpool John Lennon airport from all the major European cities. There are also direct flights to Manchester airport from most countries. Manchester airport is 45 minutes from Liverpool by train and one hour by coach. The school is just over two hours from London by train, 4 hours by road. The school is only 5 minutes walk from the main train station. The major bus station is 10 minutes from the school. Buses run to all national destinations.
