Learning English at our English language school partner in Honolulu will be a great experience. The relaxed yet organized spirit of the Hawaiian Islands will provide an excellent service, delivering great language courses in a professional environment. All permanent teachers are required to have a university degree and a minimum of one year teaching experience. The young and dynamic staff will make sure you will also have a good time outside of school with a variety of social and cultural activities. Our English language school partner is located in the center of Honolulu only 20 minutes away from the airport (by car) on the eleventh floor of a beautiful office building. The building is just a few minutes away from the beach and the Ala Moana Shopping Centre as well as the main bus terminal is just across the street. Our partner language school is very keen on improving your English as much as possible while you stay with them. In order to do so, the school has introduced an ENGLISH ONLY policy, which is handled quite strictly in order to assure that you will make the most of your time while making new friends from your own country as well as other countries. The language courses at our English language school partner are focused on the practical application of language skills. Classroom activities focus on developing all four-language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking with an emphasis on communication. During class, you will often work in groups or in pairs to improve your English through interactive activities. You will practice English in real life situations both inside and outside the classroom with real-life topics each session. Some courses may involve homework. The school will make sure that you will have an optimal student-teacher ratio as well as an extensive resource collection of text books, tapes, videos and word games and a wide variety of audio-visual and computer-based teaching aids. Course details: - 01 lesson = 50 minutes

| TOEFL Exam Preparation Language Course (20/25 lessons per week) | The TOEFL / University preparation language course prepares you for the TOEFL exam, which you needed to pass with a certain result to apply at US universities if you are a foreigner. You will be prepared for the three main components of the TOEFL iBT exam:- Listening Comprehension
- Grammar and Written Expression
- Vocabulary Building
Further elements of the course are test-writing strategies with frequent practice examinations. | Cambridge Exam Preparation Course (22 / 30 lessons per week) | The Cambridge exam is acknowledged by companies and institutions around the world and determines you sufficiency in English if your mother tongue is not English. It is a step by step certificate, which proofs your continues advancement. At our language school partner you can prepare for the FCE and CAE. You will be prepared for the different levels of the Cambridge exam which tests the following skills:- Use of English (Grammar)

| Teens course (12 - 17 years) (15 lessons per week) | Dedicated to students at the age of 12 – 17, this English language course is a combination of classroom English lessons and an integrated daily activity program. You will learn about Hawaii and improve your English while making new friends. In the morning you will focus on the language class and continue after lunch with plenty of activities and excursions, which will continue on Saturday. While you will stay with our English language school partner your safety will be always important to us. All courses start on Monday (except if Monday is a holiday - then Tuesday). Missed days will not be recuperated. Our language school partner in Hawaii is working with terms.Each term lasts 4 weeks. If you are not a 100% beginner, you can start on any Monday during a term. However it is recommended to start at the beginning of a term and to avoid the last week of a term, as the Friday of that week will be graduation day and no classes will be held. Our partner school believes that student participation in a variety of recreational and cultural activities is central to a positive experience at the school. For each session, the Activities/Events Coordinators organize cultural and recreational pursuits, which are fun, entertaining and reflect the characteristics of the area. General Various cultural and recreational activities are organized on a frequent basis with the participation of school staff. The number of participants may be limited in some activities and students should sign up early. Students are responsible for any related fees. Safety: Although Honolulu is remarkably safe compared to other large cities in America, certain precautions should still be taken. - Always use the buddy system especially late at night.
- Never talk to strangers and give any information about yourself.
- Inform the bus driver if there is ever a problem on the bus.
- Dial 911 to contact the police, ambulance, or fire department. You do not need to use coins if you are calling from a public pay phone.
No smoking policy: The State of Hawaii has enacted the Smoke Free Hawaii law, designed to protect the health and wellbeing of the people who do not want to be subjected to secondhand smoke. It is not a ban. Smokers may still purchase and use smoke-producing tobacco products in areas other than those designated as smoke-free under the law. - You must be 18 years or older to possess and purchase tobacco.
- Smoking is not allowed within 20 feet of restaurants, public buildings, or bars in Hawaii.
- At our partner school the smoking area is located behind the building. Please do not smoke in front of the school on the benches.
