Cork is Ireland's second city and is fondly referred to by the locals as “The Real Capital”. It is located on the South Coast of Ireland.

Cork was crowned European Capital of Culture in 2005 and is famous for its music, sporting tradition and cultural heritage. It is also a city with vibrant heart, charming pubs, relaxing cafés and world-class restaurants.

You will never be short of something to do in Cork and its many festivals are proof of that – jazz, opera, films and much more. The Cork people themselves are incredibly friendly; and always delighted to welcome visitors with open arms. Be warned though – they love to talk and you might be lucky to get a word in edgeways!

Our partner school is located in the center of Cork City, on the banks of the River Lee. The train station is a 10-minute walk away and the main bus terminal is just across the river. The school consists of two buildings with a total of 18 classrooms and a patio area for students to relax.  A business center available for all students participating in the Executive Business Programs.

Students have a Placement Test and orientation session on their first day. They are familiarized with the timetable and the program of activities, the layout of the building and the facilities provided. Following the placement test, students are assigned to a class with students of similar English Language ability and requirements.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The school has two buildings. The building where your classes take place will be confirmed to you upon arrival.

This course is designed for students wanting to improve their level of English and fluency, whether it be for their studies, career or personal development.

By the end of the course, the student will have improved their knowledge and use of grammar, increased their vocabulary range and use, have better oral, aural and pronunciation skills, improved their written work and be able to read and better understand written texts.

Students will learn all the essential areas of language & grammar through task-based methodology. All four language skills are given the appropriate class time through the application of the school’s academic syllabus.

This course includes 20 lessons per week standard course + 8 additional lessons in the afternoon.

Afternoon lessons are devoted to speaking.

Students wishing to focus on improving their oral fluency can discuss and debate a wide variety of topics while an experienced teacher facilitates the conversation, encourages the students and corrects errors.

It also gives the student the opportunity to further build on their vocabulary and put into practice what they have learned in the morning class. 

This is a combination of the Standard English Course (20 morning group lessons) plus One-to-One specialized classes in the afternoon. These One-to-One classes allow the student to receive the exclusive attention of the teacher and focus on precise needs including:

• General English such as fluency development, pronunciation, vocabulary building, etc.
• Business English such as the language of meetings, presentations, negotiation and email English, etc.
• Exam preparation for the Cambridge suite (FCE, CAE, CPE) and TOEIC, IELTS, BEC or TIE.
  

This course is specifically designed to meet the client’s particular needs. One-to-One lessons offer the most rapid, relevant and cost effective form of Language Training.

Each client is asked to complete a Needs Analysis Questionnaire prior to arrival.

Each course is then designed to meet the particular linguistic requirements of the participant in order to maximise the available time.

This program provides the valuable opportunity to prepare international students for successful entry to certificate and degree college / university courses. Students are trained intensively in English language, business subjects in line with a fast moving world and complementary skills for integrating a global environment

Entry requirements: 4.5 IELTS / 450 TOEFL / 600 TOEIC + Second level / High school certificate successfully completed in country of origin.
Duration: From one term (3 months) to three terms depending on the student’s command of the English language.

Classes are small and very intensive with every effort made to prepare students for every aspect of the examination. Students must be of an Upper Intermediate Level of English to take part in this course. A Placement test will be administered on arrival at the school to confirm the student’s level of English.

Our partner school has run these courses for a number of years and students have achieved excellent results. On average, they have a pass rate of 97% for candidates taking the FCE, CAE and the CPE exams.

The school is not an exam centre for Cambridge exams. The exam can be taken at University College Cork. Please see exam dates below. Students who want to take the exam in Cork will have to book an extra week of accommodation.

From June to August, the school offers an exam preparation option for TOEIC, IELTS and TOEFL exams.

Classes take place in the afternoons and are available only in combination with another English course.

IELTS exam can be taken at University College Cork. Students must travel to Dublin to take the TOEFL Exam (TOEFL exam fee is not included in the price = 185 EUR).

The school is the official TOEIC testing centre in Cork. The exam fee is not included in the price: TOEIC exam fee = 125 EUR. 

The course involves business English modules (Theory and Practical), Project work and Language skills development. The focus is on the development of the four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) in a business context.

The course content includes: the language of negotiation, meetings and discussions, preparing presentations, telephone communication, describing trends, report writing, drafting of business letters, faxes and emails, socialising, TOEIC preparation and many of the topics and situations which students and practising business people will encounter in their careers.

An initial interview, testing and needs analysis are required for this course.

This 2 week, intensive program in small group has been designed to meet the needs of people who require professional English for the workplace. Focus is placed on the development of four skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) in a business context.

Areas covered will include: the language of negotiation, meetings and discussions, preparing presentations, telephone communication, describing trends, report writing, drafting of business letters, faxes and emails, socialising, and TOEIC preparation. Clients will have the opportunity to take the test on the final day of the course.

The price of the course includes daily lunch with tutor (Monday to Friday) which allows clients to develop social conversation skills.

There are two parts to a Work Experience Program:

• A full time (20 / 28 Lessons per week) English Course for a minimum of 4 weeks.
• An unpaid work placement with a company or organisation specially chosen to match, as closely as possible, your profession or subject of study. We offer work placements in a large number of workplaces covering a wide range of professions. 

Ireland is a beautiful setting for your family holiday and it is an excellent place to learn. Our partner school offers a wide range of English Language Courses for families. The school can cater for both adults and juniors students.

Our adult school is located in the heart of Cork City. Our junior school is located 2km from the city centre on a direct bus route from your apartment. The family programme allows all members of a family to attend and enjoy our language programmes. The kids have a great opportunity to meet with juniors from other countries and experience other cultures while learning English. It is not absolutely necessary for the entire family to do language courses, we also have excellent golfing and horse-riding programmes which may suit.

The program also includes 1 full-day excursion per week (usually on Saturdays) and full board accommodation in carefully selected host families in double rooms or residences (for groups only), commuter bus ticket for use on city and suburban bus routes and airport transfers to and from Cork Airport / Ferry port.

One of the Junior Centres is located in Cork Institute of Technology and students stay in the Residential Apartments within the college complex. These are available in July and August.

This program combines English tuition in the morning and horse riding classes in the afternoon. Horse riding lessons take place 5 afternoons per week. The program also includes:

Tour of Cork City Afternoon orientation visit of Cork City.
Day Three - Tuesday
Cork City Gaol This prison building housed 19th Century prisoners, often in wretched conditions. A 15-minute walk, west of the city centre, leads you to the restored city gaol, complete with furnished cells. The exhibition and audiovisual display trace the lives of typical inmates during 19th and 20th centuries, and show some of the harsh punishments they received.
