International Diploma of English: Semester Dates and Duration

Assessment
Regular, formal assessment forms an important part of this course. You will be carefully monitored and guided to ensure you are achieving your full potential. Your work will be collated in your Learning Development File, which you can keep after your course. You will also be presented with the school´s International Diploma of English during a special awards ceremony for your Diploma year. Assessment on the International Diploma of English includes:

• regular tests throughout the course
• regular essays and written presentations throughout the course
• oral presentations
• special work project
• oral exam
• written exam

1. General English lessons (all students)
   20 lessons per week will focus on the key areas of language development so that you improve your English quickly and effectively. As you develop in skill and confidence, so you will start to concentrate on more specialist language areas. Overall, you will develop your skills in each of the following areas:

2. Guided independent study lessons (all students)

3. Special Interest Group lessons (Intensive only)
   The Intensive Year and Semester includes 8 lessons per week of more specialist subjects which you choose according to your own personal learning needs. You will first focus on extra language development subjects and then move on to more specialist subject areas. We will ensure you study the right subjects for your needs.

   The school also runs a programme of optional evening lectures which will greatly enhance your learning experience. There are 2 one-hour lecture per week, one on a language-based topic and the other on a subject of cultural interest relevant to the UK.

• Price for a one way ticket:from London/Heathrow to Bournemouth (arrival): £34 ; from Bournemouth (school) to London/Heathrow (departure): £34

• The arrival transfer is suitable for flights arriving at Terminals 1, 2, & 3 only between 9.00am – 14.30pm.
• Departure: Economy transfer is available for flights departing after 12.00pm.
• The economy transfer is not available for flights arriving in/departing from Terminal 4 or 5 (please book a standard transfer).
• If the flight arrives at Terminal 1 or 2, a representative of the school will meet the student in the arrivals hall. If the flight arrives in Terminal 3, the student should collect their luggage and follow the signs to Terminal 1 (about 10-minute walk). They should go to the Terminal 1 Information Desk and ask for the school´s representative.
