 Courses - general information:
  • Orientation / testing usually takes place on Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a public holiday).
  • Lessons begin after testing or the following day.

Learning Materials:
Learning materials are lent to the students (text book or study file). They can take the books to their accommodation whilst they are at the school but they have to return the books to schools before departure. A tailor-made course to suit the individual requirements of the student. One-to-one tuition provides a very intensive form of study. The student determines not only the content but also the quantity and pace (intensity) of their English lessons.

You can add one-to-one lessons to your course if you need very intensive tuition in a particular area of English, such as before an examination, job interview or university interview.

Summer Vacation Extra English Course (20 lessons per week + activities/excursions) (Code VE)
This English summer course is ideal for teenagers aged between 14 and 18 years. The language course is based on the summer vacation course SV but includes further services and custody for the younger students. As a result all activities are compulsory for students under 16 (unless exempted by their parents in writing) and not optional as in the SV Course.

Important notes:

  • All activities are obligatory and not optional for students under the age of 16, which guarantees an additional supervision of the students beyond the tuition. Students may only opt out of activities with the permission of their parents or group leader.
  • 14-15 year-old students do not receive keys for the house of their guest families and have to be at home at the latest at 22:30 PM.
  • Students are permitted to go out unsupervised in their free time and evenings but must return to their homestay by 10.30 PM.
  • Students under 16 years must be accompanied to and from the airport. They can be accompanied by their parents or must book an airport transfer two ways.

Junior Summer Camp in Warwick (12-17 years) (20 lessons per week + activities/excursions)

Set in over 750 acres of beautiful English countryside, Warwick College benefits from excellent facilities,
including a modern sports hall, purpose-built accommodation, a riding school and much more. It is close to Birmingham airport and within 2 hours of London Heathrow. Being only 8 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare, Warwick is a fantastic place to learn English.

Dates

  1. Courses start every Monday for all general courses, except if there is a public holiday (starting on Tuesday)
  2. Minimum Duration of 2 weeks for all General Bournemouth Courses
  3. Students can arrive on Sunday before the course starts and leave on Saturday after the course ends. Extra nights are available upon request.

The school is closed for Christmas vacation from the 19th of December 2009 to the 03rd of January 2010 and from 18th December 2010 to 3rd January 2011. (School re-opens on Tuesday 4th January 2011 as 3rd January 2011 is a public holiday)

Activities/Excursions

The school organises an exciting programme of social activities and escorted visits to Central London (for example "explore Royal London", "explore Hidden London", "London Markets" etc).

We ensure that there is something new to do every week!

Excursions
Excursions are not included in this course but the school does organise a regular programme of escorted weekend excursions. Excursions include a combination of sightseeing and free time for shopping and exploring! Typical excursion destinations are: Oxford, Salisbury and Stonehenge, Cambridge, Central London tours, Brighton and Canterbury.

Activities and Excursions are OPTIONAL except for the VE course.
