Tickets to the games are very popular among our participants and we recommend to advise us in advance. No California experience would go without a visit to the Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood or Melrose Avenue in Beverly Hills. The Intensive English Language Course Program is designed to promote communicative competence in English and consists of 20 lessons in the morning from Monday through Friday. It covers all of the major language skills including: grammar, vocabulary, conversation, pronunciation, listening comprehension, reading, and writing.

Most students choose this option and it is recommended to students that want to make significant progress in class as well as apply their acquired skills after class during activities and visits to the local attractions.

This very intensive 25-lesson per week program covers all the skills of General English. In addition during the afternoon lessons all intermediate and advanced students also have a choice of two focus modules in a variety of different areas of interest. Specialized topics and focus modules are offered throughout the year depending on demand and students' interests.

This small-group English language course features a small class size for those who want more attention and opportunity to participate actively in lessons as the school guarantees a maximum of 6 students in each mini group. Given that the classes in that program are so small, we recommend it for students who feel comfortable in small group settings. The program includes 20 lessons per week.

This one-on-one course is geared toward students who have specific needs and wish to work on individual language weaknesses. Instruction is very flexible, and students are invited to request particular areas of focus. You may choose a course of 10, 20, or 30 lessons per week.

The TOEIC / TOEFL exam preparation course specializes in classes that prepare you for either of these two challenging exams with a highly trained teacher who has had success in helping students with test taking strategies. The course also features several real practice tests in all language skills areas but also includes conversation, movies, and field trips to make the learning fun.

*Students who would like to take part in a TOEIC or TOEFL preparation course can register for this course. Starting dates available upon request. Note that our partner school in Santa Monica is not an official TOEIC or TOEFL ® exam center. Thus, you won't be able to take the test at the school. However, it is possible to take the test in Los Angeles in other centers on specific dates and according to availability. TOEFL examination fee (not included in the program price) costs USD 160-170 for both the Internet-based test and the paper-based test. TOEIC exam fee is USD 75. Exam fees are subject to change without notice.

This English language course prepares students for the Cambridge certificate exams. Passing scores on Cambridge exams can lead to entry into educational programs and professional opportunities in your country. Lessons focus on strategy and practice for exam as well as overall building of practical English skills.

This program is designed for students who wish to combine group work in General English with individualized work in Business English. Students in the Standard Plus Business Course study General English (16 lessons per week) during sections in the morning and take private classes in Business English (5 lessons per week) during the afternoon.

You can combine the Intensive English language course (20 lessons per week) in the morning with surfing lessons in the afternoon. All Surf lessons at Santa Monica Surf School include a personal instructor, surfboards and wetsuits. The lessons are typically 2 hours long.

This English language course follows the same structure as the Intensive English language course but takes place outside the classroom. Afternoon activities such as surfing can be booked separately.

Our English language school partner is now offering English plus Fitness packages. Learn English during the morning and use the afternoon to work out at a gym, golf, take yoga classes or many other fitness activities. This is a great opportunity to learn a new sport or improve your skills in one you already know!

The Fitness packages can be combined with any English language course and may include more than one sport. All fitness reservations will be made before arrival, and some schedules are flexible.

The focus of the social activity program is on introducing the participants to each other, to make friends and of course to see the best of what California has to offer.

Take advantage of the fun stuff going on in and around LA. The school regularly organizes school trips to such destinations as Disneyland, Mexico, San Francisco and Las Vegas. An activity coordinator at the school will be happy to help you organize your schedule.

If you like it more independent, just walk to the beach after class or take a bus to Beverly Hills or Hollywood discovering Sunset Plaza, Melrose Place, Hollywood Boulevard and the walk-of-fame or spend the day in Universal Studios or Disneyland.
