The following list will give you a brief explanation of our language course types and variations. This list is just an overview and does not include all available language courses. Not all course options may be available in all languages and destinations. | |
| Standard Language Courses | |
| This group language course with 10 to 15 participants contains 15 - 20 lessons per week. The minimum booking duration is 1 or 2 weeks (both depending on the individual school). This language course is often available as a long term option as well. The aim is to provide a language course in which you can improve the main language skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) whilst still having enough time for other activities besides school. This language course type is usually available for all levels (especially 100% beginners). | |
| Intensive Language Courses | |
| This language course is similar to the Standard language course but has an increased amount of about 24-30 lessons per week and aims to improve special language skills faster. The available time for activities outside of the school will be less. | |
| Super Intensive Language Courses | |
| Similar to the Standard and Intensive language course, this course is aiming at a fast learning progress with 30 lessons and more per week. Most students will find only limited time to follow on major activities during their free time. | |
| PLUS Language Courses | |
| This language course is a combination of a standard or Intensive language courses and private tuition of 5 – 10 private lessons per week. These private lessons are focusing on special needs of the student and aim at a fast progress as well as specializations in different fields. Meanwhile you will have limited time for activities. | |
| Mini Group Language Courses | |
| Some of our destinations offer Mini Group language courses. These groups contain 4 – 6 people and are aimed at a fast learning progress due to intense teacher attention. Some of these courses are only available as business courses or in closed groups. | |
| One - to one / Private Lessons | |
| If you want to have the full attention of your teacher you can book a private lesson or one-to-one course. Usually you will need to book a minimum of lessons per week if you book it as a stand-alone course. If you book them in combination with a group course, you may have the chance to take a few selected lessons (see PLUS courses). Further some schools also allow the booking of one teacher for a few people allowing up to three people per lesson (two-to-one, three-to-one). | |
| Long Term Language Courses / Semester, Gap or Academic Year | |
| The Standard as well as the Intensive courses is quite often available at special rates on a long term basis. Depending on the length of those long term courses, these are referred to as Semesters (24 weeks) or Academic Years (36-48 weeks) | |
| Exam Preparation Language Courses | |
| Many of our partner schools offer special preparation courses for language exams, which prove your capability of a language. These courses usually have fixed starting dates and lengths. Sometimes the same course will have a different length, depending on the intensity of the course (standard or intensive amount of lessons). The entry level to those courses may be limited for non-beginners. | |
| Business Language Courses | |
| Our great range of business courses is available in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian language. They focus on special learning needs in order to improve communication in the business world of the according language. The course structures vary from standard course like set ups, over combination courses in conjunction with a usual standard course and additional business lesson to business courses based on one-to-one lessons. Some courses are more general in subject, covering correspondence and presentations whilst others allow to focus on particular industry subjects (e.g. aviation, law,..). Most business courses are not available for beginners. Some courses are limited to a minimum age of 21 – 25 years. | |
| Language + Activities / Leisure Language Courses | |
Some of our partner schools offer a great variety of language plus activities/leisure courses. These courses combine the language learning with another activity or field of learning. You will learn the language in a Standard language course and then focus on the activity where you will practice a certain activity and learn more vocabulary focused on that activity.

| Best ager (50+) Language Courses | |
| The Best Ager language courses are a tribute to our more mature customers who want to learn a new language more for pleasure than for career purposes and who also want to experience the culture in a destination. All this is adapted to the learning pace of this age group, while giving you extra comfort by learning in a peer group with the same interests. Usually these language courses are offered at fixed starting days, only a few times per year, and have a fixed schedule. | |
| Junior Language Courses | |
| Our great range of junior language courses are especially designed for students between the age of 5 and 17. Most of them are available during the summer period when the regular school is on vacation. The very young ones (5-9) can participate in a language course whilst their parents are attending a separate language course. From the age of 10 (depending on the destination) students have the chance to make their first steps towards independency whilst still being looked after by the competent staff of our partner schools (many courses include 24-hour-supervision). In general the courses contain all elements of the stay, such as the language course, activities and accommodation. | |
