| For those interested, we have several
volunteer projects to choose from. Many positions ask for a
minimum time commitment (often at least one month), and may
require students to cover their own room and board. Relevant
work experience and/or degree may also be necessary. Information
about specific placements is available upon request. Our
partner Volunteer Agency will help you arrange your
placement after arrival in Costa Rica and provide a variety of
support services for $50 per volunteer. We contribute 20% of
this fee to local charities. FAQs:
Do you require that the person studies at your school for a
certain amount of hours first? ONE WEEK, OR AS NECESSARY TO
REACH INTERMEDIATE LEVEL.
What kind of volunteer work? LOCAL HEALTH CLINIC, OR
SCHOOL, OR HIGH SCHOOL.
Is it possible to participate in some kind of volunteer work
arranged by you, but not having to study at your school. If this
is the case, do you charge a placement fee? $50 per volunteer

Current positions include the following:
- Social work, counseling and administrative support in
women's development centers and anti-abuse shelters.
- Teaching English, providing educational support and organizing
creative activities / sports in orphanages and drug rehabilitation
centers.
- Teaching general subjects and/or English in a bilingual
primary school in Heredia.
- Trail maintenance, biological studies, construction,
beach patrol and administrative support in national parks
and reserves.
- Radio production and administrative support in a city
radio station.
- First aid, paramedic and office work at the Red Cross.
- Cleaning, caring for and exercising animals at the local
shelter.
- Turtle protection entities.
