Your Arrival in Berlin

By plane

Connections between the two Berlin airports and the city centre:

1) Airport Tegel

  • by public bus TXL to downtown (approx. 25 minutes journey)
  • by public buses X9 and 109 to the subway station (U-Bahn) “Jakob-Kaiser-Platz” (U7)
  • by public bus 128 to the subway station (U-Bahn) “Kurt-Schuhmacher-Platz” (U6)

Cost one-way-ticket: approx. 2,10 € (Zone AB)

  • by taxi to downtown Berlin, the cost is approx. 20 €

2) Airport Schönefeld

  • by suburbian train (S-Bahn S9 or S45) or Interregio (IR) to downtown (approx. 45 minutes journey)
  • by public buses X7 and 171 to the subway station (U-Bahn) “Rudow” (U7)

Cost one-way-ticket: approx. 2,10 € (Zone AB)

  • by taxi to downtown Berlin, the cost is approx. 33 €
By train
There are direct Intercity-Express (ICE), Intercity (IC), Eurocity (EC) and Interregio (IR) train connections to all major German cities as well as to the European neighbouring countries. All international trains stop at Berlin Central Station (“Hauptbahnhof”) in the centre of the city. Some trains also stop additionally at the station “Ostbahnhof”, “Alexanderplatz”, “Friedrichstraße” or “Zoologischer Garten”. At the Berlin Central Station, there is also a suburbian train station (S-Bahn) for immediate access to all other kinds of public transportation.
 
By bus
The central bus stop (ZOB) is located at Masurenallee 4 – 6. Access by the suburbian trains (S-Bahn) at station “Messe Nord / ICC” (S41, S42, S46) or by underground (U-Bahn) at station “Kaiserdamm” (U2)

Public transports
We recommend to buy a weekly or a monthly ticket at the ticket machines of any station. The prices will depend on the numbers of zones wich you will pass. Normally the zone AB is enough. The ticket is valid for underground, suburban train, tram and busses. Please don´t forget to validate the ticket before you start your trip with public transportation.

Taxi: flat charge EURO 4,- + EURO 1,50 for every km, Tel. Taxi head office: 030/210101

Underground, suburban trains and buses: A monthly ticket for whole Berlin is EURO 72,- and a weekly ticket EURO 26,20.
