LOURDES
RECIO:

An intense dancer, with ample professional experience, she began
her flamenco studies under the guidance of the great maestro
Manolo Marín, broadening her apprenticeship with
other great artists such as Mario Maya and
Eva la Yerbagüena.
Lourdes has participated in many presentations and shows
together with the aforementioned Manolo Marín ("Sangre
de la Primavera", "Azabache" -presented in the 1992 Expo),
under the direction of Salvador Távora (“Las
Bacantes”, “Alhucema”) or with Cristina Hoyos's
company (“Yerma”) among others. Lourdes has
danced in almost all the existing Seville tablaos.

FELIPE
MATO:

A young and complete dancer from Seville, Felipe Mato has had an
intensive academic formation in Spanish dance and classical
ballet, having studied, among other dance schools, in Seville's
Conservatorio de Danza, and in Matilde Coral's
school.
Devoted to professional dance since the age of 14, he has
spread his art in such far flung places as Mallorca, Lanzarote,
Barcelona and Naples (Italy), participating in Seville's
Xth Bienal de Flamenco, in Mario Maya's company.

Mª ANGELES GABALDON:
Newest winner of the 2002 “Desplante”,
the maximum prize for Flamenco Dance awarded at the prestigious
Festival Internacional del Cante de Las Minas, María Ángeles
Gabaldón already has impressive experience in the world of
flamenco dance despite her youth.
Great
maestros such as Manolo Marín, El Mimbre, Javier Latorre,
Eva la Yerbabuena, Belén Maya among others have had a
hand in her development. She has acquired knowledge not only in
flamenco, but in Spanish Dance and Classical Dance as well.
María
Ángeles Gabaldón has demonstrated her elegant style on a
multitude of stages throughout the world – Japan, México,
Australia, Turkey, Germany, Poland, Switzerland... – and in such
important companies as that of Pilar Távora.
It is a great privilege to be able to
include this top star of Flamenco Dance at our Studio. |

Mª CARMEN
RASERO
("LA TRIANERITA"):
An advanced student from Matilde Coral's school
where she was studying from 1982 until 1995. She has received
instruction from such great maestros as Matilde Coral, Javier
Latorre and Mario Maya. |

PEPA HEREDIA:
A dancer from Seville with
extensive experience, she began her training with Manolo
Marín with whom she remained for over ten years. Later
on, along with the Performances Flamencas Company she
participated in numerous dance festivals throughout Spain.
Settled in Lisbon from 1997 to 2001 she
taught flamenco dance and participated in a variety of flamenco
shows organized in Portugal.
Now finally established in the popular and
flamenco neighborhood of Triana (Seville), Pepa Heredia knows
better than anyone how to transmit her wide knowledge of
Flamenco Dance.

CARMEN ÁLVAREZ:
A
child prodigy, she was already at dance schools in her native
Málaga at the age of four. After lengthy preparation at the
Conservatorio de Música y Danza de Málaga, she went to Madrid
where she joined the company Jabera, with whom she toured
throughout various South American countries.
After
a period of time in England where she worked as flamenco dance
teacher among other things, she moved permanently to Seville
studying with such important artists as percussionist
Manuel Soler of whom she considers herself a disciple,
Rafael Campallo, Isabel Bayón, Javier Latorre and
Israel Galván.
With ample experience in numerous international flamenco
contests such as Mont-de-Marsan (France), this year she has the
honor of participating in Israel Galvan’s most
recent show “Galvánicas”, presented at Seville’s Bienal de Arte
Flamenco. |

LIDIA CHAMERO:
Lidia Chamero started dancing
at the tender age of eight at José Calvo's
dance school in her hometown of Jaén. She soon became a member
of the folkloric group Almanzara with
whom she toured France, Argentina and many parts of Spain.
At the age of 19 she moved to Seville to broaden her
knowledge at Matilde Coral's dance
school, also taking classes from maestros such as
“El Mimbre”, Merche Esmeralda and Eva la
Yerbabuena.
For several years now Lidia has been concentrating on her
work as Flamenco Dance teacher, becoming a
talented instructor in the numerous styles she dominates.

INMACULADA MALDONADO:

Ever since participating at the age of
twelve in a flamenco dance course given by Seville’s
Matilde Coral, Inmaculada Maldonado has not wavered for
a moment in her passion for Flamenco Dance. With master
teachers such as the above-mentioned Matilde Coral, El
Mimbre or Javier Latorre, Inmaculada has
turned into an excellent teacher with solid experience in
numerous centers throughout Seville, and particularly noteworthy
is her participation at the Centro Superior de Danza Matilde
Coral.
She has appeared on television a number of times as
well, and worthy of mention is her participation in the film
“Sevillanas” by the great director Carlos Saura.

SONIA SALAS:
Sonia
Salas, a young star of Seville’s flamenco dance scene, has been
involved with this wondrous and difficult art all her life. A
native of Alcalá de Guadaira, a town with strong flamenco roots,
Sonia Salas began her academic formation there, later continuing
her studies in the capital, Seville, with great maestros such as
Manolo Marín, Belén Maya, Manolete and
Javier Barón to name just a few.
Since 1994 she has continued to offer her art in numerous
venues throughout Spain and abroad. In 1997 for example, she
represented Andalusia at the extravaganza annually celebrated in
St. Louis, USA. The following year she was on stage for
Seville’s prestigious Bienal de Arte Flamenco appearing
in the work Toros y Flamencos. Her vast experience
beyond Spain’s frontiers has taken her to countries such as
France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Holland, etc. For a long time
she has been a regular star at the flamenco cuadros that daily
offer their art in different tablaos throughout Seville such as
El Arenal. |
