Choose from
two of Canada's most beautiful cities:
|
|
|
|
The schools are based
in the hearts of downtown Toronto and Vancouver, just minutes
from art galleries, museums, theatres, libraries, waterfront
markets and all major transportation lines; the areas are well-known
for fashionable restaurants and sidewalk cafés. Toronto is the financial
and cultural capital of Canada. It is the centre of much of
English Canada's traditions and heritage and offers you a range
of cultural events, historic sites, modern architecture, ethnic
neighborhoods, lake-side restaurants, markets, fashionable stores
and a great night life!
Niagara Falls is close by and weekend trips can be taken
to Montreal, New York, Washington DC, and Boston. |
| If Toronto is the most
exciting city in Canada, Vancouver is without question the most
beautiful. Situated on the Pacific West Coast, the city offers
spectacular views of the ocean, mountains and surrounding islands.
Blessed with a moderate climate, wonderful parks and gardens,
a great variety of fine restaurants and sophisticated cultural
life, Vancouver has always been a favourite for international
visitors for its leisurely West Coast pace. From Vancouver, take a short drive to Whistler, a world-class
ski resort, take a weekend trip to Seattle, California or Las
Vegas, or fly to Hawaii. |

the most out of your English learning experience, the teachers
encourage you to participate in class, give you homework and
give you individual assistance when you need it.
We incorporate a
variety of modern learning methods into our English courses, and
make full use of the multi-media centres, video and audio tapes,
and video cameras.
Class times and courses
are assigned after the placement test on your first day of

of classes and the date of registration. We cannot guarantee any
specific time or combination of courses in advance.

TOEFL/TOEIC
Preparation Program |

| The Test of English
as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is the best known North American
test of English proficiency and is required for entrance to
most North American universities and colleges. The TOEFL test
is now computerized and students can take it whenever they are
ready. However, the colleges with whom we have linkages have
agreed to accept our students from a certain level without a
TOEFL score.
The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC)
measures English language proficiency in the work environment
and many employers require it for employment and career development.
TOEIC exams are available every 2 months.
|

Both TOEFL and
TOEIC programs are available for either 20 hours or 30 hours
a week.

Activities
+ Excursions |
 |
| Our organised activities
range from evening outings to weekend trips. Our program suits
all tastes - from the artistically and culturally inclined students
to more sports-minded students, and every budget. There's something
for everyone!
In the winter, you can ski or snowboard in the evenings on
the local mountains; or, from Vancouver, take a weekend trip
to Whistler, a world-class ski resort just two hours away
by car. For the less energetic, why not go to a professional
ice hockey (one of Canada's national sports) or basketball
game? In the summer, we go on picnics, go horseback riding,
hiking and canoeing. Year-round you will have plenty of opportunities
to attend concerts, plays and ballet productions. Spend a
weekend away on Vancouver Island whale watching or take a
day trip to Niagara Falls, just one and a half hours away
from downtown Toronto. These and many more activities are organised by our schools. |
 |
If you're on a budget,
our lower priced activities might include teaming up with fellow
students to play beach volleyball or a drop-in basketball game,
go rollerblading in a local park, or enjoy a movie night.
Our monthly "welcome" dinners are very popular
and a great way to meet your class mates.
On all school outings staff members will accompany you and
act as "tour guides." The only rules are - you must
speak English AT ALL TIMES (we have a very strict ENGLISH
ONLY policy in the school and on school outings) - and have
fun!
Both cities are surrounded by areas of natural beauty and
numerous parks. Check out our Student Information Centre (there's
one in each student lounge) for information on local events
and attractions.
